Why Return to Joy Exists

Renew the Mind

Healing begins with truth. Trauma, betrayal, and long seasons of survival can distort how we see ourselves, God, and the world around us. Return to Joy exists to help women renew their minds through Christ by replacing lies with truth and learning to think from a place of freedom instead of fear.

Restore Body & Soul

Our bodies remember what our minds try to forget. Stress, grief, and trauma live in our thoughts, settle into our nervous systems, and impact daily rhythms. This work honors the whole person, creating space for rest, regulation, and healing that reaches beyond words.

Return to Joy

Joy isn’t something we manufacture or force; it’s something we return to as healing unfolds. Return to Joy exists to walk alongside women as they reconnect with their God-given identity and step into a life marked by peace, purpose, and quiet confidence in Christ.

“He will strengthen you and help you; He will uphold you with His righteous right hand.”

- Isaiah 41:10

My Story

Life was normal... or so everybody thought.

For most of my life, things looked good from the outside.

I was hiding death in my marriage, in my health, in my sanity. 26 years of suppression, “it’ll be okay”, and “I can hold in there” began to…well, kill. Repeated emotionally charged events that were too intense to process(trauma) built up, time and time again.
My unwillingness to confront or share my husband’s sexual, emotional, and financial sin began to kill the person he claimed to love: me.

My body lived in fight or flight and built tumors on its way to cancer.

My soul seeking the oxygen of freedom, only pulsed up betrayal and shame. My spirit? Holding the keys to life in full, but not knowing where to find the door. I had tasted death, no longer wanted life, and knew that this reality was bound to take me out.

May was her name. The Gal who put my hand in the hand of my Messiah.

On a trip to visit my son, this stranger came up to me and said, “God has something to say to you.” The words that followed were catastrophic floods to my parched desert heart. I was given hope. God saw me. I meant something to Him. I had a purpose.

The heart-level understanding of God’s love for me was enough to spark a forever change.

I began acknowledging the pain, chaos, and dysfunction. I chose divorce as a step toward life instead of continuing in destruction. After leaving the battlefield, I had to learn how to tend to the bleeding ligaments, blind eyes, and broken bones of my inner self. I was still dying; I needed a Healer.

I was invited to a trauma seminar at the College of Athens, and there I encountered something profoundly simple. It was that the truth would set you free.

I watched as people with lifelong trauma and shame replaced their buried lies with the everlasting word of God and found peace. People repented from bitterness and chose to forgive, and they would find joy. This was only the beginning, and I knew I needed more.

Through a financial miracle, I was able to become a student of the C4C program. It was the same thing over and over again: allow God to reveal a wound, find the lie attached to it, replace it with the truth of the Word, and forgive/bless those involved.

Over time, having faith in the words of God brought me life. I now believe I am called to do the same for others. I completed the C4C certification and am now practicing as a coach for women who crave to be set free. I am thrilled to help others come into agreement with the truth of the word and to return to joy.
