Prayers & Prompts

A BLESSING OVER YOU

Before you explore these prayers and journal prompts, receive this blessing spoken over your life.

Jesus, I lift (fill in name) to you.

Let your peace rest on their heart, your love wrap around them, and your presence guide every step. May heaven sing over them, filling their days with joy, hope, and your grace.

Keep them pursuing Jesus in the wasteland until they make it to the Promiseland.

Amen.

PRAYER 01

Identity & Worth

Prayer: Jesus, I turn my attention fully toward You. Let every false belief and self-made definition of who I am fall away, so I can be renewed in your truth. Forgive me for believing the lies that have distorted my identity or limited how I see myself.

Reveal how you intentionally formed me-my gifts, talents, and abilities-according to your

Design and purpose. Help me to walk in who you created me to be, grounded in your truth and led by your spirit. Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt: “Who am I beyond what I do or what others think of me?  What truths about my worth do I want to affirm today?”

PRAYER 02

Healing & Restoration

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want more of you. I want to know You, sense Your presence, and live aware of Your love and grace. I invite you into every part of my story, including the places shaped by pain, confusion, or loss. You know what I have experienced and how it has affected me. I ask You to heal me and remove anything that blocks me from fully receiving all You have for me.

Lord, please restore what trauma, fear, and shame have disrupted in my body, mind, and spirit. Heal the ways I see, hear, feel, and perceive the world and Your presence. Cleanse me from what was never meant to mark me, and bring peace where there has been distress. I place every memory, wound, and broken place at the Cross and receive Your restoration and freedom. Jesus’ name, Amen.

I place (enter name) in your hands and ask you to move in their life according to your will. I speak blessing over them (insert blessing), and I trust you with the outcome. Thank you for the freedom forgiveness brings and for restoring my heart as I release this fully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

PRAYER 04

Heal Shame

Prayer: Jesus, I open my heart to You, even in the places that feel painful, hidden, or difficult to face. I invite you into my memories and the broken places within me. You know the shame I have carried and how it has affected my life. I ask You to heal the pain, draw every burden to the Cross, and gather the scattered pieces of my heart. Make me whole again through Your love and presence.

Thank you for cleansing me from shame, confusion, and disappointment, and for meeting me with compassion where I once felt alone. I release my shame to You now, knowing there is a place for it-and that place is at the Cross. Restore me to honor and dignity, as Your beloved child.

Jesus, help me to believe Your promises and step into the life You have prepared for me. I receive Your healing, freedom, and truth, and I ask You to break the lies I believed about You, myself, and my story. Thank you for restoring what shame tried to steal and for leading me into the fullness of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Release Trauma

Prayer: Jesus, I bring you my story and all the parts of it that have wounded my body, mind, and heart. I invite you into my memories, emotions, and places that have kept me locked in fear, shock, dread, and pain that I have carried on my own. I ask you to break every assignment of trauma that was meant to cause me harm and bring it all to the Cross. I declare that what has been brought to death has no more power to harm me. May your life and power flood through the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. Restore the cells to perfect order, function, and design. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

PRAYER 06

You Are Not Your Past

Prayer: Jesus I admit that there are parts of my story that I have wanted to erase! I know that I can’t change my past, and you are the God who has already redeemed all things. Help me stop keeping score against those who have hurt me. You are my defender! Help me to keep my eyes on you when I want to look back because my hope and future are forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Journal Prompt: “What parts of my past am I holding onto as my identity?  How can I see myself as growing, evolving, and free from that narrative?”

PRAYER 07

Fear & Doubt

Prayer. Jesus, fear, and doubt sometimes try to settle into my heart and mind.  They leave me feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, stuck, and questioning what’s next.  When that happens, my thoughts can get cloudy, and it becomes hard to see the truth.   But I remind myself that You have not given me a spirit of fear.  You have given me power, love, and a sound, steady mind.

I take authority over every fearful and doubting thought and make it obedient.  Fear and doubt have no place in my heart and mind.  When my fear rises, remind me to take every thought captive and stand on your promises.  I choose to reject their influence and replace them with your truth and your peace.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Journal Prompt: “What fears or doubts are whispering most loudly in my ear today? How can I face them with courage or faith?”
